I have a favorite scripture, Romans 12:2 “ Do not conform to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good, acceptable and perfect “ This scriptures remind me daily to be myself and trust God in all that I do and with every relationship I develop with different people. To have discernment to identify what is really true and right for me, whether it’s a business decision or a personal relationship. One of favorite quotes is by Jeremy Clarkson, he said, “It’s what non-car people don’t get. They see all cars as just a ton and a half, two tons of wires, glass, metal, and rubber, and that’s all they see. People like you or I know we have an unshakable belief that cars are living entities… You can develop a relationship with a car and that’s what non-car people don’t get… When something has foibles and won’t handle properly, that gives it a particularly human quality because it makes mistakes, and that’s how you can build a relationship with a car that other people won’t get.” Read more>>

Saying yes sometimes means making mistakes (and learning along the way if/when that happens) and sometimes it means learning something new about yourself and finding new & exciting opportunities & experiences. Saying yes for me can be something small like wearing a dark lipstick (that I wouldn’t normally wear) and it can be something big like opening a business during a pandemic–which I did, and I can know say I’m a successful small business owner for almost 1.5 years now. My favorite quote is “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” by Dr. Maya Angelou. Reason being is that it sums up my individual personality. There is a difference between having a survival versus thriving mentality. I want growth, I want success, but not at the expense of my character and personality! A lot of people forget who they are at their core because they are trying to “survive”. I prefer to bring my substance with me everywhere I go. Read more>>
