We had the good fortune of connecting with Aleida and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aleida, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
My motorcycle. The ability to feel and live in the moment is so surreal!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So, I have grown up around motorcycles, but when I learned to ride, that’s when I took on a whole new life.
Learning to ride was a process and I’ve taken my experiences and teachings and wanted to encourage more women to do the same.
I went to my first Drag Specialties expo about 3 years ago and that was probably one of the most exciting events I have ever done! So I started pushing “parts” because I wanted to let everyone in the motorcycle community know, “guess what’s coming” “check this out” and for my ladies, ….”don’t listen to your husband or boyfriends, here’s other ideas and options!”
I started doing monthly raffles because I know how expensive parts can be. & for some, motorcycles are a hobby.
This isn’t the easiest, and some days, weeks and months are slow. Sometimes I find myself sharing time and knowledge more than sales. I’ve had two raffles bomb on me. But I keep going!!! I figure one day it’ll just get better and bigger!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh goodness, so, with motorcycles, it’s all about the ride. The “open road” if you catch my drift. So without discrediting so many fabulous eateries and venues, I would have to say, if my girlfriend came, from out of town (and she rides too, btw) to visit, some of the adventures I would show her would be…..
Yankee Tavern, Drifters Icehouse, Sam Houston National Forest/Piney woods, good ol’ Galveston, Kemah, Lake Conroe, and then I would have to take her out of Houston and she and I could create new “open road” adventures or rides I’ve done before, but we wouldn’t be local!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Both my son and my boyfriend! In their own ways, they’ve always been my biggest supporters just as much as I’ve been theirs.

I have always pushed and told my son to “do what makes you happy.” So now, he tells me, “momma, do what makes you happy, that way it doesn’t feel like work.”
& My boyfriend because every time I get discouraged, while working in the garage or making content, he pushes me and reminds me of how far I’ve come.
