We had the good fortune of connecting with Alijah Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alijah, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is that I’ve become a inspirational public figure leading the way for young women and adults in a industry that is usually dominated by men.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I go by Alijahthebarber I am a 10 year old female barber from Houston Tx. I’ve been cutting hair since I was 4 yrs old with my first stage performance at 6yrs old. My dad @frankythebarber has led the way for me to be as great as I can be. I now have 8 1st place trophies, have been featured on all the news stations and STEVE HARVEY. I have traveled to different cities and states to perform my craft. I love to use my creativity to help keep me focused I have been diagnosed with dyslexia and a speech impairment so when I’m cutting up I feel I’m in my comfort zone. I love to use my craft as an inspiration to others because making excuses is the first sign of failure no matter what you go through in life god will always bless me to bless others. Utilizing my craft we also are big community activist and put many events together to give back.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I definitely would go to my favorite restaurant it’s HB Japanese steak house in humble I love it there. Also main event or gocart riding.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My dad @frankythebarber has been my biggest role model, mentor, and my number one supporter along with my mom and siblings. Family is always number 1. We are known as the hair fam.
