We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda – Eye of the Day and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda – Eye of the Day, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
For me as I grow older I realize more I am supposed to be here. I hold on to the gems in my life. I am forever grateful to have found a few in this time. When I want to give up the universe speaks back, it always reminds me to keep going look up at the sky we are only here for a minute, be kind to yourself and hold on. Reflect on yourself always the truth is inside each and everyone of us. “We are not going in circles, we are going upwards. The path is a spiral; we have already climbed many steps.”
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m very excited on new music that’s coming from us. life has always been a battle to get through not just physically but mentally for all of us especially this year it’s been quite a year for the whole world. We have grown so much together and individually that it’s a beautiful thing to still be here alive and breathing and creating in any way you can. Lessons come at every moment if you look close enough and within yourself you will find answers to the troubles that burden you always. If you are a part of something bigger than yourself like me you will always come back to where you belong. Our story has been this we follow our own path and we always take the scenic route.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I remember working one day and I went on a lunch break and stumbled across this beautiful Buddhist temple that has stayed with me till this day. It’s called Phuoc Hue Buddhist Temple. I really enjoyed walking through it and calming my mind and finding some moments of peace in the day.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
At this current moment it’s revisiting The Mission of Art by Alex Grey. This book was a very inspiring book to read as we were younger kids in high school and even till this day learning about our own mission in life. We didn’t grow up with parents or anyone around to tell us to practice or to follow your dreams or anything like that, nothing was handed to us. We had each other and the musicians, authors, directors and artists as our teachers to uplift us four and believe in our creative process. This book was instrumental to our beginnings.
