Meet Amber Ambrose: Co-CEO and Co-Founder of digital content creation agency, Ambrose McDowell Communications

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Ambrose and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amber, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
How much time and energy goes into copywriting and communications. We work a lot producing organic social media for different brands and organizations. Our process involves a monthly content plan, copywriting, creating graphics, submitting to client for feedback, incorporating feedback, getting it scheduled and then monitoring it for comments or engagement after. It’s not as simple as it looks, and we take it step by step.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ambrose McDowell Communications is a five-person, writing-focused creative agency founded in 2017 in Houston, Texas. We lighten the load of content creation and communication for businesses and organizations through content writing and copywriting services with a focus on informing, educating and branding.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As a former food writer, I’d want to make sure to take them to eat ALL the different types of cuisines we have to offer here in Houston. A progressive meal in Asiatown would be awesome, getting Peking duck somewhere, dumplings another spot, hot pot, and dessert. Mein would definitely be in there somewhere. I would also love to take them to Super H Mart to pick up snacks, banchan and pastries. My husband works at Saint Arnold Brewing Company, so a visit for a few pints and lunch would also be on the itinerary. If the weather was nice, I’d love to volunteer at Plant it Forward farms, visit the Arboretum and probably Eastern Glades in Memorial Park. For cocktails, I’d be excited to get an Irish coffee at Better Luck Tomorrow in the Heights, or hit up Houston Watch Company in Downtown. We also love visiting local breweries outside of Saint Arnold, so a brewery crawl to Holler, Eureka Heights, Great Heights Brewery, Astral Brewing and True Anomaly would be contenders. If there are kids involved, Levy Park is at the top of the list as well as Discovery Green and a trip to get picnic supplies at Phoenicia Downtown.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Lauren McDowell, a business partner that has stepped up to keep our business moving evolving and improving. She’s pushed me out of my comfort zone many times to improve as a leader, communicator and business owner. She’s talked me off many ledges, held my hand through difficult situations and given me tough love when I needed it.
