Meet Amber Wilcots | Lifestyle Realtor & Apartment Locator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Wilcots and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amber, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My decision to start my own business really began with family. I initially got into real estate to help my family navigate their own real estate needs and make informed decisions. Through that process, I realized how much I genuinely loved the work; from educating clients to guiding them through such an important life milestone. What started as a way to help my family quickly grew into a passion, and I saw that I could build something meaningful and successful long-term.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is built around the idea that real estate is about more than just buying or selling a home; it’s about lifestyle. What sets me apart is that I focus on helping people find a home that truly aligns with how they live, not just what fits on paper. Home has always been very special to me, and I want my clients to feel that same sense of comfort, pride, and belonging when they walk through their front door.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t always easy. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced challenges early on, and there were moments when things didn’t feel quite right. One of the biggest turning points in my business was making the decision to switch brokerages. That pivot changed everything; my business began to excel and I felt more aligned with my goals and values.
Through that experience, I learned some of my most important lessons: the importance of advocating for myself, trusting my instincts, and not being afraid to pivot when something doesn’t feel right. Growth doesn’t always come from staying comfortable; it comes from making intentional changes that support your vision.
What I want the world to know about my brand is that I lead with heart, intention, and service. I’m proud of the business I’m building and excited about continuing to help people find homes that truly fit their lifestyle.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston has so much to offer, so a week here would be a perfect mix of food, wellness, culture, and fun. We’d definitely start by doing a little thrift shopping at some of my favorite spots like Buffalo Exchange and Crossroads. Houston has such a cool, underrated style scene.
For food, sushi would be a must. I’d take them to places like Ten Sushi, Azumi, Haii Keii, or Uptown Sushi! Each one has its own vibe and consistently amazing quality. We’d also make time for matcha outings at Matcha Mia and Isa Matcha, which are perfect for a mid-day reset.
In the evenings, I love a good cocktail moment, so we’d check out spots like Best Regards and Sophie. I’ve also been wanting to try Aperitivo, which recently opened, so that would be a fun new experience to share together.
Wellness is a big part of my lifestyle, so we’d attend a wellness event or do a Pilates class, and then treat ourselves to a spa day; either at The Houstonian’s Trellis Spa or The Spa at The Post Oak Hotel for the ultimate reset.
For dinner, Houston’s restaurant scene really shines. We’d rotate through favorites like Relish, Turner’s Cut, Hudson House, and The Marigold Club; great food, great ambiance, and perfect for enjoying a nice evening.
Before wrapping up the visit, we’d spend time in the Museum District, exploring the museums and soaking in the culture. I’d also check what’s playing in the Theater District so we could catch a show or even the ballet; Houston’s performing arts scene is incredible. That mix of style, food, wellness, and culture really captures what makes Houston special and why I love showing people all the layers this city has to offer.”

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d definitely like to dedicate my shoutout to my parents, my husband, and my friends. Their support, encouragement, and belief in me have been constant throughout this journey. I’d also like to thank my former realtor, who truly inspired me to take the leap and go for it. Seeing what was possible through her example gave me the confidence to pursue real estate and build something of my own.
