We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Morton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my business was for others to see how important getting to know who you are, not the person you thought you had to be to please others around you.

What should our readers know about your business?
As a selfcare retail business we focus on transformation. Also focusing on how everything around us is all connected to who we are.

I have learned situations that we go through has a lot to do with who our higher self/our Soul wants us to become in this lifetime. The connection between the little girl or boy that we have inside of us is also connected to our authentic self outside of who the world wants us to be or needs us to be. It’s all about finding ways to connect with and understand how important it is to truly know who we are, which is a spiritual being first and that we’re not the victim, that we are good enough no matter what society says, no matter what a parent said, no matter what a friend said, you are and I am enough.

So I have based my business on spiritual tools that are connected to who I am and who my ancestors were and because they live in me they show up through me. I may make it sound easy or like I arrived to this place in my life over night, that is by far from the truth. It was definitely a challenge undoing and unthinking my old ways of being and stepping into what I would call my new self which is not really new. My soul knows exactly who I am and who I have been.

Some of the lessons that I have learned along the way is that everything always connects back to self. Anytime we find a situation that we think is outside of us, it’s always connected to our internal selves, for example if someone says something that hurt your feelings, if you react and just go off on this person or constantly think they did this to me, they said this to me, they are a horrible person. The real question is why did I respond the way that I did toward what they said about me… and do I really know who I am… because my response was not of a person who is secure. Now how can I get to know more of who I am. Now with all that being said you may after your shadow work need to establish boundaries and/or talk to this person from a more healthy mental state. The real work is not to go off and feel like I’m going to tell them about their wrong doing, now that can be part of it… real work and growth is also understanding your response and why the response .

I have learned how to come into understanding that my gut feeling is my intuitive nature. I am able to understand and read tarot cards and oracle cards. There is energy within crystals and stones and understanding the connection between the spiritual realm and spiritual smoke and aromas that can heal us by the frequencies/vibrations. I have now been able to transform what I was raised to believe was not for my good into understanding that this is actually embedded in my DNA and I want to share this with the world. So that others can transform as well!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love a great day at the farmers market picking fresh fruits and veggies. Even though I sell crystals and spiritual tools, I love to hang out and support local spiritual stores as well. I love to eat, so we can definitely check out a vegan friendly restaurant to eat. We can’t forget vegan friendly bakery for a great chocolate cupcake!!!! I love hitting a local spa for a relaxing pedicure and/or massage.

Let’s shop til we drop at the local small businesses. Another exciting thing that I would love to do is go hiking in a forest and look at all what nature has in-store.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout out to every situation that I had to go through in my life to get to who I am today. I give a big shoutout to my sister Ashley (Goddess Herbals) for introducing me to how crystals and herbs can be vital in our lifestyle as spiritual beings. Shutout to my Husband for supporting me with every person I have been throughout our 2 decades of knowing each other on this earth. I send blessings to my family for all the support they continue to show me through all my growth and lifestyle changes.

Just to name a couple books I highly recommend for learning about how to love yourself and to work through your shadow side are Queen Afua her book Sacred Woman showed me how to tune into the goddess within and how to accept and nurture self. Another shoutout to Don Miguel Ruiz for The Four Agreements, this book will make you see how your way of thinking does not align with who you are becoming. I am currently listening to an Audible UnFU*K Yourself ( Get out of your head and into life) the title says it all !
