Meet Ashley Hurst | Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Hurst and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, how does your business help the community?
The Crohn’s & Colitis Dietitians provides many free and low cost ways for people to get connected with vetted, evidence back nutrition tools. We also work 1:1 with people that need closer support.
Our goal is to make IBD nutrition easier and more fun for IBD patients like us and improve accessibility to quality information about what matters the most.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets us a part is that as a team we really understand the value of being open to learning and growing together.
We spend time each week discussing each of our patients and how we can support them best. We coordinate care with their providers and really make it a collaborative effort.
We believe that health care should involve teamwork and good communication so that everyone on our patients team is on the same page and we put this belief into action each day.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So many great food spots and fusion resturaunts in Houston! I’d probably go check out a park or two, go to Siphon for coffee and go for sushi!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My team is 100% why we have had the success that we have. They are so dedicated to helping others with IBD and care so much about going above and beyond for each person we work with.
