We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Tolbert and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process when it came to starting a business was first I had to change my mindset from a customer to owner mindset. How do I want to run my business? How much overhead I’ll need? Or course I thought about would it work. So I started selling baby cups once I seen I can make a good profit after having my baby I became more health conscious so it led ,e to my health and wellness business especially once I seen what the herbs was doing for me and my family.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m definitely most proud of the tremendous growth of my business. It most definitely wasn’t easy many obstacles came my way but it’s important that when challenges come your way you stay focus on what you prayed for. Over time I’ve developed a work schedule that helps me stay balance, also reading mindset books when you change the way you look at things the things your looking at start to change. Becoming a first generation entrepreneur was hard because you have to go hard for your business and show up everyday. I’m so happy that I stayed consistent and focus. My health and wellness business has tripled in sales within our one year being open and I can’t thank nobody but GOD. KK WELLNESS COMPANY is definitely growing and will be expanding even more by the end of this year.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take her to Dallas or Austin, we’d most definitely go to the spa and do some yoga to relax and unwind. Then we’d really just do whatever we want go shopping try new restaurants and attractions. Have some night life fun
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My daughter Karson was definitely my inspiration, once she came into the world it gave me a direction of where I wanna be and what I want to do with my life to make a better life for family and the generations after me. Also my mom for always being a true supporter an always being our number one employee. And last but not least my family and clients couldn’t do it without y’all.
