We had the good fortune of connecting with BellaADonna and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi BellaADonna, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued art in many different ways from writing to painting to creative furniture and clothing but music is my greatest artistic endeavor because it is the only art form I am talented in that allows me to fully express my heart my mind and my soul it allows me to unlock and release, it almost cathortic in that way because it is therapeutic. Finding my voice meant finding me and my purpose of being.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m BellaADonna multi talented artist from New Orleans Louisiana, I’ve been working toward my purpose and gifts as an singer/songwriter, painter, furniture refurbishing, gourmet cooking and designing clothing using my own art and graphics. I’ve been actively singing since I was 15 working with many diff producers some now famous and others still unknown, I got my big. Break to work with wyclef Jean in 2004, I have been featured in many music videos including some with cash money “beautiful life” and juvenile “in my life”, I’ve also Been a featured vocal background as well on wyclef jeans creole 101 album as well as hook or background vocalist for many artist in Nola, it’s been hard and still not any easier but worth the roller coaster ride of emotion and gratitude. Living in my purpose makes it all worth it. I decided to make my first album released the Love alchemy as eclectic as my road has been showing variety of style and writing. It’s available everywhere music is streamed. Simultaneously I released my clothing line BellaADonnasCloset using bigcartel as the platform to showcase my art on clothing creating my ARTWEAR style. (BellaADonnasCloset.bigcartel.com) I think it speaks for itself. This past year I started my food business BELLASBELLYROLLZ and it was met with great reviews and acceptance. I’ve transitioned into a multi business owner which wasn’t easy but I did it to make my brand grow and be more known.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
New Orleans is filled with culture and vibes that are unlike any other place, the air is thick with music, food and spirits. Anytime I show someone my city we start with the most famous spots so they can get a taste of the French quarters and downtown life, but I love the Frenchmen area it’s more for the locals u get to experience Nola culture in action, then we’d head to the bywater area like st. Claude eat at the local restaurants and party at the local bars lining the street. Nola is an all day party place there’s always something to do and someone new to meet, the people are hospitable and entertaining! There’s no place like home!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to send a shout-out of love and appreciation to thank, kcdaproducer, Africa Potts, jimi clever, Dj idol, Dj Dev, Perk, streetteam productions and my grandmother Mary Louise for id have been nothing without these people!
