We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittni Dones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittni, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Therapists have to over indulge in self care due to the amount of energy it takes to assist in healing others.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am proud, excited, and grateful to be able to serve and help others. Not only do i help my clients, but i am also on building and helping other future therapists to start their journeys as well!!! I got to where I am today with a lot of resilience and perseverance. When starting your career you find yourself doing things that are more challenging, putting in long hours, you learn so much about different facets of therapy and I honed in on my skills and that helped shape me into the therapist i am today. I always say things are not easy, but simple. So no it was not easy. Some of the lessons I’ve learned today is keeping an open mind and a growth mindset, every little thing i put into today just knowing that this is for a greater good, and believing in the concept of the compound effect. Always being sure to take care of myself, recoup, because i have to be healthy for my clients. I would like the world to know that I have arrived , and that i am here for the people.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston Zoo, Houston Aquarium, NASA, Holocaust Museum, Discovery Green, Breakfast Klub,Galveston Beach, NBA Rockets Game
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I absolutely LOVE my clients!! They teach me as much as i teach them, they help me see things from different lenses and perspectives. My all time favorite book is The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy I live by this book in my everyday life. I would also have to thank my parents for always pushing me to greater heights.
