We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryan Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bryan, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
People who want to do something great in life starts off with dreaming the scenarios of accomplishing their dream, but in the real world, it really isn’t like that. There are people who just wants to be rich and successful but doesn’t put in the hard work and time to reach your goals in being successful, which leads them into giving up. Now in the other hand, we have people who really want to work really hard to be successful but people won’t know that yet till you get to the point of success. Life is unfair to people with so much dedication to their dreams, and the only way to manage that is to know if this is exactly what you want to do in life, like 100%. Self-love is the one of the most important mental things to balance yourself from your dedication towards your dream, so you have to make sure that you are enjoying every single obstacle that is being thrown at you. Sure some obstacles aren’t fun, but it just makes you mentally strong, which decreases the chances of you giving up on your dreams, and the more you keep going, you will accomplish anything. Over the past 8 years, I’ve been through a lot on my music dream, and I, BR1AN, 19 years of age, is about to release my fifth album, and to play my first live show this July in front of hundreds of people, with a lot of audience engagements, and hopefully start my own world tour in 2023 to showcase how much fun I have playing the music I love to make, and to inspire thousands of people who have the same dream as me. Never give up. Trust me, you don’t know what the future holds if you keep going.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As an artist, I’ve managed to release 4 album in the past 3 years, was in a billboard in Los Angeles and Houston, and managed to get my own headlining live show that I am going to perform this July. I just really love music and it’s been my passion since I was a little baby. I got inspired by latin artists, pop artists, and DJs and I really wanted to make a living in music, but I knew I had to work hard to become a big musician, so I would make more 500 songs over the past 8 years to get better at producing and to see my progress to remember my roots. It was one of my most difficult obstacles I had to face as a musician. I have learned that no matter what people say about you and your weird dream, if you are enjoying doing it, and continue to get better at it, then you will have the ability to change people’s perspective of you. I want people to know me as an artist that creates songs from within, not something that will satisfy a big load of people, and I want to make my electronic music very interesting depending the theme of each album that I produce.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Best spots for go in the city. Well, I honestly think that eating wings with family and friends is one of my favorite things to do in the city. Going to the Galeria or Baybrook is always fun too, and of course, going at nighttime at Downtown to ride scooters. Galveston is also a good place to hang out with your friends. That’s all I got to say.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First of all, I want to thank God for giving so much blessings through this journey. I wouldn’t be where I’m at today without him. I want to thank my parents and brothers for being so supportive of me, They had to deal with me for the past 8 years about this music nonsense. I also want to thank all my beloved friends, collaborators, musicians friends, and everyone else who doubted me or didn’t doubt from when I started school to now. This is only the beginning for BR1AN, and I’m going to show people that I mean business.
