We had the good fortune of connecting with Cephany Coppedge Kelly Kira Coppedge and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cephany Coppedge Kelly, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
SSC originally was started by Cephany and her mom during Covid as entertainment and supplemental income, and then it took off from there. In 2021, I began dating Cephany’s brother (my now husband) and started helping out with the business. Flash forward 4 years and Cephany and I now operate the business on our own! It’s a creative outlet for us, and to be honest we didn’t really think it would take off into a full blown business. Originally the only show we participated in was Pasadena Rodeo, and beyond that we would fill a few custom orders throughout the year. We have now grown, participating in multiple shows throughout the Houston and Bay Area each year while running our Facebook page and new etsy page!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
At SSC we create custom designs for any and everyone. Our products range from cups and tumblers, to hats, koozies, office supplies, door hangers and more. When the business first started we offered only epoxy and sublimation cups and tumblers. Since then we have grown and evolved into so much more. The thing that truly sets our business apart from others like us is our ability to create products tailored to each customer. Many of our designs are created from scratch by us, and most of our business comes from personalized designs we produce. We take pride in providing a unique experience for each customer that leaves them with a one of a kind product you can’t find anywhere else.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s so much to do in the area it’s hard to pick just a few. Kemah Boardwalk and The Strand in Galveston are some of our favorites for a good family fun day. They have such a wide variety of entertainment, shopping and a food its sure to be a good time for everyone. Then at night, for the adults, you have to hit Midtown for some bar hopping. The Rustic, Little Woodrow’s, Riot Room and Wonder Bar are some of our favs. Another hidden gem that is great for family or a night cap is The Truckyard. Their food trucks never disappoint, and the fun lawn atmosphere is hard to beat, Not to mention they have a delicious drink menu.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, we want to give a huge shoutout to our family, in particular Cephany’s parents Amber and Michael Coppedge. Without their support and guidance we wouldn’t have been able to come this far and stand on our own.
We also want to thank our friends that are like family who invest in us, place orders, help with setups, and all around encourage us along the way.
And for us the organization that started it all is Pasadena Livestock Show & Rodeo. Pasadena is the first vendor show we ever participated in, and the feedback and customers we gained is what pushed us to grow into the small business that we are today. No matter how many vendor shows we pick up throughout the year, you will always be able to find us at Pasadena Rodeo.
