We had the good fortune of connecting with Chad The Choppa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chad, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Remaining a student while continuously educating and implementing innovative strategies to create brand awareness.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being a Barber by trade gives you the opportunity to display your artistry on each client that sits in your chair. Each haircut is a collaborative art piece between myself and the client which I feel distinguishes my work from others. One of my most proudest moments to date was opening my barber studio located in the Midtown area of Houston. My professional Barber career started many years ago when I first decided to cut my own hair in high school which evolved to me cutting hair in my college dorm room. I decided to attend barber college after relocating to Houston from Chicago and learning I was having my first child. The journey wasn’t easy as one could imagine but the knowledge from failure is far more valuable to your success. Whenever I was faced with a challenge I would pray, meditate and exercise. Some of the key lessons I learned while pursing my career are: Create a brand that represents the whole version of yourself, market/networking should be constant, become indelible, and conduct yourself as a professional. I want the world to know that my brand was born to serve as a reminder that we all have the power to decide our future and how we will be remembered.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
