Meet Cori Aston | Makeup Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cori Aston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cori, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Creativity has always been a part of who I am. I’ve always been very aesthetic and I will always have the desire to create. I’ve been a working Makeup Artist since I was 18 yrs old and I am in constant pursuit of creating, mastering and bringing to life the beauty I see in my imagination. That process will never really stop.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What really sets me apart is that I see makeup as an art form.
I’ve never limited myself to one mastery, I create in editorial, avant-hard, commercial, bridal, cosplay, private clients, etc. ,
Each of those worlds challenges a different side of my artistry, and I love that. For me, it’s never just about makeup – I’m an artist who happens to use makeup as my medium.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of the things I love most about Houston is its diversity. We have the best restaurants, rooftop lounges. Top-tier sports teams – Astros & Texans. We have an amazing museum district, parks, entertainment – Midtown, Downtown, Montrose… What’s not to love or see In Houston!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The people that believe in my work.
Through the years it those people that have seen it, believe in it and appreciate my talent. Every judge in competitions, every client and every photographer along the way.
