We had the good fortune of connecting with Corrigan Coleman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Corrigan, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Being consistent and never giving up. The quickest why way to fail is to never try.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from other artist is the realism and quality I put into my work. I try and put myself in a certain place when I am doing my art work. I like to connect with every painting I do. If I am painting about a person I try and learn more about them, I’ll listen to their music just to try and get to know them better.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Turkey Leg Hut to eat or El Vaquero’s, which is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. And the turn up spots I’d take them to would be like Seaside, The Address, or Chapman and Kirby.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom and dad Wanda and Howard Boudreaux for always supporting and encouraging me. Nevertheless, my acting coach Renee Rivon who gave me the opportunity in my first stage play “Orgins of a Jealous Woman”. She really pushed and believe in my acting potential even when I was terrible! Lol
