We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Harder and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daniel, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Willpower! Since my teenage days as a professional mountainbike downhill rider or as a muscle model later on-willpower is what kept me going.
The Will to achieve the extraordinary. Even if the first day wasn’t successful you don’t give up. Look back at what went wrong and how to improve and then continue. Then put in the sweat and work till you finally succeed.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love what I do and everyone who meets me and gets to spends time with me will is a witness of my passion. Let me go a litte back in time. I was Working as an engineering technician in Germany-it was great but never took a big place on my heart. I was missing something. I’ve been in professional sports since I was 16 years old and always tried to get myself to the next level through Self education, in person classes and by hiring coaches. Over the years I have collected several certifications in every different area that has to to with health and fitness and of course pushing my self farther and beyond till I finally earned a pro card as a WBFF Muscle Model.
The last three years, unfortunately, I haven’t been able to compete as a Muscle model because of a serious shoulder injury. However I just recently competed at The Tactical Games. It is an avenue that combines my new found passion for shooting and fitness competing that pushes me physically and mentally to the limits. I am very excited to return to the next TG in 2022.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend is of course a fitness lover. So we have several gyms we have to workout at during the week. My favorite gyms in the HTX area are Species gym in Katy. Alphalete gym in Stafford and legacy barbell in spring. After a heavy lifting session we need to refuel so. Best post workout meal is red meat. Glad we have so many Prime steakhouses in the city. I love the galleria area. We would go to steak 48, mastros and my personal favorite papa’s steakhouse.
One day we will definitely go shopping at the mall. Galleria it is!
Another thing every guy likes are guns! We are lucky to have the freedom of the second amendment in Texas.
After a day of shopping and shooting we will end the day with dinner and a DJ at the Sporting Club on Washington Avenue. I love that place. Very good crowd and delicious food. Afterwards a couple of hand crafted cocktails at the Sugar Room right next door.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m very thankful for my old mentor Wolfgang Unsold from YPSI back home from Germany. I went through his Personal Trainer education program and he helped me get ready for my own fitness competitions as well.
