We had the good fortune of connecting with Doc Strangeway and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Doc, why did you pursue a creative career?
Storytelling, history, and acting are three hobbies I am most passionate about. When I learned about the idea of a ghost tour, I realized I could hone my skills and showcase them in a way that would entertain people, and fulfill my passions, My career is a way for me to really love what I do, and when you love your job, you will never want to stop.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Houston Ghost Tour has been a labor of love for my wife and I. Both of us have found a creative outlet and entrepreneurial spirit from running the business. We are proud to showcase a team of award winning actors and storytellers who have gone on to be in movies and film,
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love Spring, and all of the restaurants in Old Town Spring and always suggest it. We also love Main Street in downtown Houston, and suggest visiting. The hotel Icon is supposed to be very haunted!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We are beyond blessed to have such support from other small businesses around Houston and Spring. I would like to personally thank Tracy and Dave Peck who own and run Creations Market and Workshop, Jessica Lynn at Lynn’s Table restaurant, and Khindra Lopez at The Tea Kettle Cafe. All of whom we work with and are small businesses,
