We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Marshall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emily, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose to pursue an artistic and creative career because I realized that’s where my true strength lies. I’ve always had a knack for taking something simple and turning it into something personal, meaningful, and beautiful. Recently, I’ve been especially drawn to creating custom rosaries. Each one is inspired by someone close to me—whether it’s a family member’s favorite color, their personality, or just the “vibe” they give off. I’ve even started naming the rosaries after them, which adds a special personal touch.

I’ve always been crafty at heart. Creating things by hand and pouring my creativity into each piece is something I truly love. Turning that passion into a small business has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, and I’m so proud to finally be doing it through my shop, Rosaries by Emily.

Looking ahead, I plan to grow my shop and introduce more handcrafted items—like custom jewelry and even bookbinding with a twist that reflects a little more personality and creativity than your average book. I’m excited to keep sharing my work with the local community and beyond!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What truly sets me apart is my passion. I pour my heart into everything I do, and I’m deeply committed to creating something that speaks to everyone—something that makes people feel seen, celebrated, and included.

My journey to this point wasn’t easy. I started out as a stay-at-home mom, dedicating all my energy to making sure my family had everything they needed. While that role brought me so much fulfillment, there was a part of me that longed to do something just for me. At first, I felt guilty—even selfish—for wanting more. But over time, I realized that following my dreams wasn’t taking away from my family; it was adding to the love I could give them and the example I could set.

I want the world to know that it’s okay to chase your passion. It’s okay to stand out. Be bold. Be different. Be unapologetically you. There’s only one version of you in this world, and that alone is your superpower. Don’t dim your light—shine as bright as you can.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have a friend coming down from Canada this July and I plan to take her to Buccees , Bass Pro over in Katy , The Hobbit Cafe and if time allows , a few more places! The Houston zoo and Aquarium are a goal to take her to as well!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I absolutely want to give credit to the people who have supported me every step of the way. First and foremost, my husband Jonathan—he’s not only my best friend but also my constant source of strength and encouragement. He’s believed in me and my creativity even during times I doubted myself.

I’m also incredibly grateful to my Godmother Kim and her husband Paul. They’ve always been there for me with open hearts and steady support, especially during moments when I needed it most.

And I can’t thank Fr. Luis enough—he’s been such a warm and guiding light in my life, even through some of my darkest times. His kindness and presence have been a quiet but powerful force in keeping me grounded and inspired.

And , finally , I am overly Grateful for my friend Michael. Who supported my businesses growth and showed me that he believed in me and my dream.
