We had the good fortune of connecting with Estella Brooks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Estella, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I’d honestly say “Be YOU”. Yes we know there are a million other luxury picnic companies out there! It is so important to make your work you and personal. Don’t go with what is cool or what others are doing all the time. Do what YOU think is YOU!I just like to remember and tell ourselves that “The right clients will come to us based on our style”. If we started this company based on other peoples opinions we wouldn’t have ever seen such joy, wins, and amazing experiences. We love being in the small biz environment. We have met so many amazing people and vendors who have become great friends. When starting a business it is all about learning and going with the flow. You get the hang of things and learn whether you like doing something a certain way or not!! That is what is so great about being your own boss and owning your own bizz!! YOU MAKE THE RULES!!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’d like to think what sets us apart is our style. Yes, it is a luxury picnic company BUT its what we offer. Our events are personal unique experiences. We offer our own touch of a theme with a twist on each. As for how we got to where we are we did not stop. On the good days it is fun and we will work day and night! When the times are slower and not as “fun” you don’t want to continue that slow day. BUT we didn’t stop pushing. On those slow days we think “Okay how do we change this?”, “how do we better our company here?”, “what would you want as a client?”.

Lessons we have learned on our journey is to be consistent. Post, post, post!! Just because a photo had 12 likes and your last had 300 likes doesn’t mean you have failed. I know it can be hard to get inconsistent numbers at times. As long as one of those 11 booked that is still a win! It doesn’t matter if you have 30k followers and only 10 book. We are under 1k and have been booked nonstop!! don’t get sucked into those thoughts because I know I have been there and thought “What am I doing wrong?” You learn as you go!!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Stellar Picnics & Co. would like to give a shout out to our families for the amazing outpour of support. We have family in numerous cities & sates. It never fails for them to go on socials and “Like, comment, share, etc” our latest #STELLARBRATION. It may seem like a small gesture but in all reality.. that is how this small bizz life works!! Word or mouth. Our clients say “We saw you on my friends/families IG when they booked with you guys!” As for myself (Estella) as a Co-Owner I would like to thank JDM. He is the man behind it all. Every table you see, he built it with his own two hands. What I envision & draw he makes it happen. No matter how crazy the idea is. Without him none of this could have happened. From the bottom of our hearts we want to take the time to thank “Pipa”. Pipa, Thank you for giving us the knowledge, space, time, & endless effort on helping us get this business up and rolling last March. We can’t forget our Mommager Susan Brooks. You have been a constant light in this journey of ours. No matter the day or time you constantly are checking in on the Stellar & Co. A normal message from her is “Fix this- but Te Amo” , “I think next event you should add this with that with this theme”, &”Don’t forget to post today so I can share”. Last but not least is our Good Good Father. We put our trust into him and trusted his timing. Never lose sight of what is important!
