We had the good fortune of connecting with Fancy Lane and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fancy, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I am just now “getting it” with the work-life balance. For so many years, I definitely would sacrifice my peace and prosperity in a personal setting to achieve my work goals.

Now that I am in my thirties, I have come to realize the importance of nurturing both aspects of my life. It is truly about finding the best of both worlds, where personal fulfillment and professional success coexist. I can only win from here. As I continue on this journey, I’m committed to prioritizing self-care, pursuing my hobbies, and setting boundaries with myself and those around me for more fulfillment.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We advocate for interactive activities, timeless designs and curating client events based on their love story. I am most proud of the moments where my clients completely trust my decision and execution. Seeing their reaction absolutely fills my heart and gets me absolutely giddy.

I got to this moment by working hard at evaluating the previous years’ results and improving a category to improve client experience.

I decided to bet on myself 6 years ago (in April). Literally, the reason I got to this place today with my business is because I chose to go against the grain and create a wedding planning resource that is awesome for any budget and curates authentic designs. This path has not ever been easy. I breathe through each challenge and put one foot in front of the other.

My favorite lesson is to always go for the challenge; you learn more.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am going to let you down on this one. None of my friends ask me where to go in the city because I prefer to work and then return to my home. I need a good mix of party (aka work) and quiet (aka my bed).

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh Wow! This is my trophy moment!

I have to start with God. Without my faith, I would be a different person. I don’t even care to entertain what that may look like.

Last and the most important, I thank my Granny for instilling in me the best part of her. She encouraged me through all of my greatness. Without her, I would not have fallen in love with fairytales and books.
