Meet Isabella Macias | Self-taught illustrator artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Isabella Macias and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Isabella, what inspires you?
I am inspired by the power of making what I imagine, what I think, and what I feel come true, for me inspiration comes in many ways, generally, I look for ideas, images, color combinations and then join them and create something personal, unique and colorful, I connect a lot with the idea that the artist does not always have to be inspired but always has the intention of inspiring others.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I feel that art has been part of me since I was a kid, the beginnings were on paper, modeling clay and origami, but currently, my art is reflected in painted denim clothes, but I also enjoy digital art. I published my first coloring book for all ages inspired in animals there are 25 images with a style similar to mandalas but with simpler figures, I also have my first collection of bandanas with 4 exclusive designs, I adore the unique, the authentic, the personalized.

I feel that each artist has their essence and their stamp, the goal is to make them know that as soon as they see your work it is yours, but that takes time and effort and I feel that I am on the way to that, I am building it, I am defining it. It’s exciting that whoever takes your work takes a piece of you, a part of your soul, a moment, and a feeling, it feels very satisfying to be able to connect with people through your art, I feel that every step you take is the goal because if you have a final point you will always want to go higher I feel that it is a road that does not end it is a road that is built every day

It has not been easy, some people or situations will want to turn off your light, but you have to be brave and believe in yourself first to achieve great things.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in a place with a lot of forests and very nice parks I would definitely take her out into nature for a kayak ride down the waterway then we would go somewhere local to eat, and then I would look for some festival, art fair, or concert that literally any time of the years you can find this type of activities.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
