We had the good fortune of connecting with Jada Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jada, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
My retired age is 30, I am currently 24. My main goal is to open 2 nail shops & multiple nail schools. I also wanted to branch back into doing hair, selling hair & hot tools, and hair products. I just want to expand I understand that it’ll take time but I’ve been doing this for 5 years and after my 10 year mark I plan on working with regulars only and letting my business work itself.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Honestly I’m in no competition with any other nail techs. I love looking and sharing other techs work especially unique techs.

I am proud of my growth as a business owner. Yeah, things could get really tough to the point to where I’ll want to quit but lately I’ve been working on being more consistent and push myself to my full potential. I’m just excited for what the future may bring.

I got to where I am today by believing in myself, pushing myself and turning every idea or dream into reality. On a nail journey it could get a little rocky but one thing I’ve noticed along the way was… NEVER compare your work to anyone else, do YOUR thing! What works for you may not work for someone else. Also all money isn’t good money. You don’t have to accept everyone that books with you. Some people love to bring drama to your business.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First thing first we’re going to Lost and Found. That’s my favorite place! Also I’m a fun type of person we’re going to the adult arcade, bowling, & go kart riding or atv riding.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents play a HUGE role in my business. They made my first business investment, gave me somewhere to start doing nails, and never gave up on my and my dreams of becoming a black nail tech. I love y’all and thank y’all so much!
