We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Archer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jason, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I started the business, I was looking for a way to build a creative connection to my community and wanted to make that happen through art. I was lucky enough to have several like minded colleagues who shared the same passion and we discovered a way to make it happen we the resources we had, then built on it and improved it over time

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I create modern myths and narratives with my work through Texas based characters by fusing Pop Art and cultural archetypes that reimagine historical events, natural phenomena or existing ritual… I am proud of the community I have built here in Austin. There was an existing mural culture here, but our business established the resurgence of this art form beginning in 2011 through Frank Public Art. Getting here was not easy, anything worth it never is. But by setting goals and objectives and doing your best to reach them is key. Keep on keeping on and maintain a strong work ethic and moral character along the way while staying connected to your community.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The restaurants in Austin are amazing. Il Brutto for Italian, Suerte for one of kind Mexican and Kinda Tropical for a beer and outdoor patio

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Dr. Patty Alvey and Don Henry put their faith into my career at the very beginning as patrons by offering me a place to work and live with the only caveat being to produce work. Without their help, I don’t know where I would be
