We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Ibarra and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, how do you think about risk?
Taking a risk is always the hardest thing to decide to do because you know that you may lose something. When deciding to start a lash business it was something that I went back and forth on because there is so much money and time that must be invested. I decided to go for it because I have always had a love for lashes and a passion to be my own boss. I consider myself a risk taker because I have learned that you must be brave and have courage to get the things you want and deserve.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The best part of the lash industry is that there are always opportunities to grow and learn more. It takes, practice, consistency, dedication, hardwork and last and certainly not least resilience. This is a journey of learning, falling and remembering to get up, dust off and try again. It was not easy overcoming challenges but it helps to have a friend who understands your struggles. I have learned that nothing worth having ever comes as easy as you would like. I am going to continue to strive to be the best that I can be and provide beautiful lashes!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love mexican food so lopez mexican restaurant on s. wilcrest would be my go to spot. Painting at painting with a twist because that is always a good relaxing time. Then maybe daiquiris at daiquiris shack and play some games while we hang there. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
nina love instructor/mentor at the ogle school has been very influential and supportive with helping me become a better lashtician. She is available for any questions I may have and she offers solutions. She has also helped me network with likeminded individuals who have also been influential to the success of my business.
