We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonathan Vasquez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jonathan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The idea of creating SNAP BOOTH HTX came from the thought of building a photo booth business that anyone can afford. My wife and I wanted to rent a photo booth for our wedding in 2011, but we were not able to make the expense. We want our business to provide the best photo booth experience for everyone without having to hold off 0n the fun of a keep sake for their guests and themselves with affordability. The value of a memory has no price but meaning.
What should our readers know about your business?
In 2018 we were intrigued by the fun all the guests were having at my cousin’s wedding. as this marinated in our thoughts, we decided to stop making this a thought, and put this into action by investing in photobooth supply to see how we could also bring the fun to the party. Our excitement was in how much of a highlight this would be for any type of event. We have a family member that actually manufactures photobooths and decided this is our opportunity. We started assuming this would be an easy sell, book, set up, make people smile, get a payout and go. The biggest challenge this business has brought us is that making a great impression on our clients is key. The customer service experience has to be exceptional no matter what type of business you run. This has allowed us to have returning clients as we continue to grow. In 2019 we started our small business with free photo booth rentals as we rolled into 2020 we decided to make a big launch during the pandemic and as difficult as it was to get bookings we didn’t let that stop our grind. Our first paid event had us in such excitement we couldn’t believe the pandemic was our biggest challenge/blessing in disguise to push this to grow.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First place to start out our day would be breakfast at House of Pies on Hwy 290. Then we make our way towards the Museum district. Don’t forget to stop at Tout Suite Htx for some yummy baked goods and simple foods! If you want to have some fun with friends for simulator games Loft 18 or arcade fun Cidercade, are some of the places to go. If you like sports you must go check out the Toyota Center and Minute Maid Park even if you’re not a fan you’ll have fun! There’s so much to do in downtown Houston don’t leave without checking some of the art and graffiti all over town. Before you leave don’t forget to stop at Buc-ee’s for some cool merch or yummy snacks!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The things we accomplish in our business are measured by the amount of support we allow to influence us. My supporters are many and God being number one in this journey has been my strength. My wife who encourages me and helps this business on a daily basis stay afloat. My family and friends who always encourage me to do better. Lastly my daughter is my greatest inspiration, she reminds me every day in her smile failure is not an option to give her a better future.
