We had the good fortune of connecting with Julie Tran and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Julie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process before starting my own business started with a realization that I can either help someone else build their empire or build my own. I was working at another salon at the time and realized I wanted to do my own thing. I’m a mom of 4 so I knew I needed to have my own business where I can control my own hours and be there for my kids. That’s when I made an extensive to do list and went to work.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I own The Lash House Tx located in Spring, Tx. Here, we specialize in eyelash extensions. Eyelash extensions is a makeup application that enhances the length and fullness of your natural lashes.

What sets my business apart from other’s is that I provide quality work along with genuine customer service. I can do that in a timely manner. I have 9 years under my belt now and have mastered many styles of lashes. I don’t view my clients as a transaction. I always joke that I am also a therapist. I love talking and building relationships with my clients and I think that’s what keeps them coming back.

What makes me the most excited is seeing how excited my clients get seeing theirselves in the mirror. It’s gives me a rush of joy when I see that they like my work.

How did I get here today? Consistency. I figured out a system and kept doing the same thing over and over until I reached every small goal I set for myself.

I wouldn’t say it was easy or hard. It was more trial and error. For my business, I already knew that I can provide that quality work so I just had to figure out how to get clients in the door. I did so with special promotions and discounts. Once they see the work that I provide, it was easy for them to stick with me.

One lesson I learned about my business is that you cannot take things personal. You can’t please everyone and that’s ok.

What I want the world to know about my business and brand is that lash extension has become a high demand service and here at The Lash House Tx, we provide quality work using only quality supplies and materials. It’s a place where you can come to relax, vent and get your lashes done. In a world where us women are always on the go, lashes gives us that sense of feeling put together without much effort. So, if you’re looking for lash artist that can deliver, I’m your girl.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Nowadays, my idea of fun is watching my kid’s basketball tournaments or dance competitions. My best friend would have to find someone else to hang out with if they want more excitement. BUT if she/he would like to wine and dine with me, I do know a couple of great sushi spots. I would definitely recommend Aiko, Katami or Kata Robata.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, God. I believe everything falls into place when it’s meant to. For me, It was a combination of hard work and a little bit of faith. If you put in the work and trust the process, you’ll see results. Also, shoutout to my family, friends and clients who encouraged me to keep going when I started to doubt myself. Thank you! ❤️
