Meet Kathryn Grant | Realtor & Pilates Instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kathryn Grant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kathryn, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Since becoming a mom, I had to change my personal definition of “balance.” Instead of trying to give equal energy to everything at once, I’ve been more intentional about knowing what needs my focus the most in each season of my life. Maybe that means limiting the number of classes I teach, or taking on a certain number of real estate clients per month– giving me a chance to slow down and avoid the inevitable feeling of burn-out. All in all, I’ve gotten better at setting boundaries and carving out small moments of rest for myself. It’s definitely still something I’m working on, but now I approach balance with more intention and kindness toward myself than I used to.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I wear a few hats — I’m a realtor, a Pilates instructor, and a non-profit advisor who works with students both academically and emotionally. On the surface, those roles seem very different, but what ties them together is my passion for helping people feel grounded, supported, and capable — whether that’s helping someone find their dream home, building strength and confidence in their body, or navigating challenges in school and life.
What makes me different is that I approach everything that I do through the lens of wellness. For me, it’s not just about transactions or tasks — it’s about truly seeing people, meeting them where they are, and helping them feel cared for and confident in their decisions. That personal connection is at the center of all the work I do.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built. Whether it’s a student who felt seen and encouraged for the first time, a client who tells me their new house feels like a home, or a client who lets me know that they are leaving feeling better than they came in to my class. These moments remind me that the work I do matters in people’s lives.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that my brand is about more than business, it’s about balance, wellness, and creating spaces where people feel safe and can thrive in their own personal lives. I want the world to know that I lead with my heart, and that I see my work as an extension of who I am: someone who is deeply committed to helping others feel supported and empowered.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a huge foodie, so I would without a doubt have about 20 restaurants on my list of places to go.
If you’re looking a for a good Mexican Brunch: CasaEma (Get the Chilaquiles and French Toast)
If you’re craving Southern Cuisine: La Lucha Heights (don’t forget to get the biscuits, hello)
Flower Child, for something on the healthier side.
Rosie Cannonball, for European comfort food.
Uchi is a little on the pricier side, but incredible worth it.
Lastly, the Puddery to satisfy your sweet tooth. I love the Oreo Croffle (Keith Lee Approved).
In terms of places to go, Houston’s Museum District is my favorite part of town. If you’re anything like me and love to be in nature, definitely check out The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mentor, Crystal Hadnott! She has always been a personal mentor to me as I navigated college and post-grad, but then became influential in my Pilates journey.
