We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyle Ward and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kyle, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Putting God first. I have a personal and intimate relationship with Christ, and I do my best to tie all of my endeavors to an ultimate purpose. I’ve noticed that as long I keep my relationship with God primary, all the other needs and wants in my life are taken care of.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I feel like I am still fresh to this journey as an artist/entertainer. I am eternally a student of the craft, and I am fully aware that I have infinitely much more to learn. However, I take pride in making my mark in this world. The road has been far from easy, but all of my steps are ordered. I don’t shy away from challenges. In fact, I embrace them because greatness doesn’t come without adversity. My art goes beyond just myself. With every role, every song, every film, every play, I seek to inspire and rub off on others. I am not a perfect man, but I know that God gave me such gifts and talents to be a blessing to other people. Ultimately, that’s the vision that gives me direction.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I hope I don’t make this whole response about food because I LOVE food. I’d be able to charge Houston culinary tours if I wanted to. But outside of that, I enjoy the simple things. Some of the most fun I’ve had recently is attending the Texans’ football games (with good seats). Maybe we’d catch a show at one of the city’s reputable venues. Right now, my favorite restaurant would have to be the Original Carrabba‘ s on Kirby. We can always get a workout in at one of “The Fitness Project” locations or one of Houston’s beautiful parks. And when I’ve earned it, I enjoy well-crafted cocktails. A good spot I enjoy going to is called “The Flat.”

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to thank the Community of Faith Church for spiritually feeding and nurturing me. I’d like to thank, Tony Award-winning, Mrs. Roshunda Jones-Koumba and Mr. Jabari Collins for seeing something in me and paving a way for me to be successful in this career. Also, I’d like to thank my family and close friends for a constant circle of support.
