We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyy Mosely and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kyy, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My end goal is to be a well-known blogger national and international. Hosting my own events and having speaking engagements worldwide. But most importantly I want to just make a difference within the world and let people of color know that if I can overcome my dark times you can too.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets Apprehensive Lifestyle Blog apart from other blogs is the fact that we help people of color understand their mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Apprehensive is a safe place for those who want to express what they are going through. Here at Apprehensive, we explore and dig deeper than the surface area. We look for the root of the problem and actually work our way up to the surface level.
I got here where I am today by listening and being open to others. I asked them what they need/expect from me, it is all a work progress but knowing as I evolve so does my blog.
One of the challenges that I faced over the years was being consistent with everything. I started Apprehensive while being a full-time student and a full-time worker. Not knowing that just days after I launched my life would go from completely bright to completely dark. Apprehensive soon became my voice and my safe space. Whenever I wanted to get something done I blogged about it. Not knowing it was helping others deal with the same thing I was dealing with.
People always say “once it’s on the internet, it is there forever” that is a true statement because although I do not delete the previous posts from years back, those posts are still the top posts that get the most views because of how raw and open I was with everything I was dealing with.
The thing I want the world to know about myself is that I am human. We all make mistakes, but it is up to us to learn from those mistakes and do better. Every day I choose to do better, that is what makes me a great life coach and blogger.
The one thing I want the world to know about my blog is that we are here to help. It doesn’t matter what you are going through or have been through. If you are looking for an outlet to just let loose then we are that blog for you. We want you to feel comfortable in your own skin.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
On day one we are making reservations to a nice restaurant that neither of us has been to, to try their drinks because what is dinner without drinks?? Then on day two, we will go to the French Quarter, do a little shopping, and head to Sunset Nola for a sweet treat. Then we will hit up DaFix or Triangle for some food. On day three, we will go to Tunica Hills and have a hiking trip and come back and bar hop on Frenchmen St.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to say thank you to everyone who ever believed in me when I didn’t. Without you, I wouldn’t have kept pushing towards my dreams and goals.
