We had the good fortune of connecting with Lacie Heckathorne and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lacie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My clients and my process are the main reasons for my success as an interior designer! I work with really great clients all over the country and my streamlined process ensures we have a strong sense of trust from the very beginning of each project. Having an easy and organized process that my clients fully understand from the beginning help each project to go smoothly and effortlessly for my clients. Without these two things I wouldn’t have the success I have found.
What should our readers know about your business?
I own Lacie Grace Interior Design. I started my business in 2012 and since then I have been working on residential and small commercial projects all across the US. I love helping people create their dream homes and I offer a variety of services to be able to work with all types of clients. Just to give you an idea, here are a few of the ways I can help with an interior design project: I work with new build homes so I can work with you from the ground up helping you select all of the finishes, fixtures, and interior details that go into building a new home. After your home is built I can choose new furniture and accessories that will compliment your new home. I can also help you spruce up your current home in the form of remodeling, new furniture or decor, or just a new paint scheme. My business is very client centered and my design style is unique so you won’t find the elements I would choose for your home in your neighbors home!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many great places to explore in the Houston area. My two favorite places are Galveston and the museum district. I always find creative inspiration in these areas. There are lots of great shops in both areas as well. A few of my favorites are Kuhl-linscomb, Hendley market, or nautical antiques in galveston. When I’m downtown for dinner I love going to Grace’s. They have such a great atmosphere and delicious food! When I’m in Galveston my favorites are the Mosquito Cafe for breakfast and then La Kings Confectionary for a sweet treat!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Owning a business wouldn’t be possible without my husband! He’s been supportive of my dream from day one and is always willing to help me with solutions to all the issues that arise with starting and running a business. I’ve also found lots of networking groups, mentors, and business coaches along the way that are all tied to the interior design industry in some way and without all of those people I would not be where I am today!
