We had the good fortune of connecting with LaKisha Mosley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaKisha, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Giving up is never an option!! You have to keep going. Now they may be a detour or two. Maybe even take a different path but giving up is not ever an option. I would say if something didn’t work out as planned you may have to regroup or go back to the drawing board. Or you may have to totally revamp the idea but giving up is not an option.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a creative, your mind doesn’t always work the same as others. I’m always looking for ways to think outside the box but to keep my readers interested. I love introducing them to new things but to also talk about the things that interest them. Being transparent is not easy. It’s challenging because you never know how much to share but then you want to let your audience into your life; the real side of you that they can relate to. I’ve learned it’s always great to write your own narrative. Never let anyone tell your story. I grew my brand with real and raw stories of overcoming lots of personal challenges. I think that when people can relate to you on all levels, they can see that you are no different than them and that they can overcome as well.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a foodie so I would take them to one of my favorite restaurants. I love to shop too but in this COVID climate I don’t venture out much. I might take them to Grand Lux. Or for some good Texas cooking we might visit Texas Roadhouse.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my Pastor, Robert Johnson. He is an amazing mentor, friend and someone I can trust my entire life with. He and my amazing church family Saint Mark United Methodist in Wichita, Kansas support everything that I do. I mean everything! Pastor Johnson is always available to his church family. He prays with us, gives us spiritual guidance and makes sure that we are ok.
