We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenny Franklin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kenny, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Consistency breeds success. Success is not predicated on numbers or even fame but committed and consistent you were to your goals, the habits you built and the character you obtained from your hard work.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art form is the curation of conversation. I believe all change derives from conversation. Engagement is how we find out who we are and what interests us. I chose to start a podcast to reflect this truth, and though speaking is naturally apart of my personality learning the business and taking a passion from a hobby to source of income and stability is another story. What I’ve learned is my net worth is really my network. The highest form of riches are in relationships with others. I lacked resources and the knowledge to succeed but I had a network of people who seen me through difficulties to gain success. I want people to know my brand is about showing the world Jesus through a cultural lense.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely go to taste bar, a black owned establishment with great food and live music. We would travel through the museum district to see the scenery and culture the city has to offer. We would check out dope spoken word artists and creatives at writers block open mic nights owned by a friend of mine. Just a few places we would have to end up. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My best friend and life partner Brianna Mari. The consistent challenge, patience and belief she has had towards me has meant everything.
