We had the good fortune of connecting with Larissa Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Larissa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business was driven by a desire for greater freedom and alignment with my personal values. The flexibility of being my own boss has allowed me to devote more time to my relationship with Jesus Christ and to actively contribute to my ministry. Additionally, this decision has provided me with more opportunities to spend quality time with my family, which is incredibly important to me. The journey of entrepreneurship is also a profound exercise in walking by faith, teaching me to trust in God’s guidance and provision every step of the way.
What should our readers know about your business?
I started my business in January 2019, but it wasn’t until March 2024 that I transitioned to being a full-time photographer and business owner. March 2024 was a significant month as I also opened my own studio, alongside Rachel Holguin of Rachel Ko Photography. These milestones are some of the achievements I am most excited about.
The journey to this point has been guided by Jesus Christ, who has opened and closed various doors for me, ensuring my path to success. It has not always been easy; there have been challenges, but I refuse to give up. I strive for excellence in everything I do, which has been a critical factor in overcoming obstacles.
Throughout this journey, I’ve learned many lessons. One key lesson is the understanding that success doesn’t come easy and can often be uncomfortable, but persistence and perseverance is crucial. I want the world to know that I am committed to operating with excellence and serving my customers is my number one priority. My training and dedication to excellence set me apart, and I am passionate about delivering the best service and creating meaningful art through my photography.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! I want to dedicate my shoutout to several key figures and groups who have been instrumental in my journey. First and foremost, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for always directing my path and giving me the vision to pursue His will for my life. He is the source of my strength. I am incredibly grateful for my beautiful church family, The Voice of Healing, who have consistently encouraged and uplifted me. My family also deserves immense recognition for their ongoing support and love. Lastly, a special thank you to Roy Harvey of Rainedrop Photography for his invaluable mentorship and for showing me how to create art with my images. Each of these influences has played a crucial role in my success, and I am deeply appreciative of their support and guidance.
