We had the good fortune of connecting with LaTonia Fontenot and Gina Becerra and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaTonia and Gina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We wanted more leisure time with our family, more flexible work hours and to be able to manage our business with care not only for our customers but for our workers as well.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are an emerging full-Service Commercial Cleaning Company serving the Houston Area. We offer janitorial cleaning services for schools, churches, medical facilities, office buildings, and more. We work with companies of all sizes and customize our services to meet their specific needs. We have over 12 years of combined experience and when it comes to health and safety, there’s no room for error.

I think what sets us apart from other janitorial companies is that we see all of our clients like family and therefore we take their concerns as our own no matter how big or small. We are also excited about being a minority-women owned business.

It is actually a funny story about how we got where we are today. We were talking on the phone about how we manifested this business around 8 years prior, we were both thinking about a career change and this talk was the affirmation that this was the right time to go forward with the plan. Starting in the middle of Covid-19 was a challenge but we are still standing.
4. Smile, laugh and enjoying what we do at the end of the day makes a big difference

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would start with a hike about an hour on Magnolia trail, then go to vintage park to eat breakfast at Another broke egg and enjoy one of their amazing breakfast, after that to walk off the breakfast go around the Vintage Park and do some shopping around Vintage Park, after that in the late evening drive back to Magnolia and enjoy some delicious ribeye stakes with a fully loaded baked potato marinated in Hawaiin sauce with fried shrimp and butter garlic lobster, and some whiskey on the rocks and get ready for bed.

For our next day we will cook breakfast at home and then head to uptown sushi on post oak off 610, then we would head to Westhimer to shop at The Galleria, then pick up crawfish and snow crabs at LA Crawfish on Veterans Memorial and Beltway 8.

The next day we will go fishing in Roll Over Path in Galveston across the ferry and enjoy a quite and relaxing day.

On Thursday we will enjoy a day at Top Golf and have drinks and food, in the evening we will go to Whiskey River North and have a cowgirl extravaganza. Enjoying our two stepping in our boots and great whiskey.

Friday we will eat BBQ from Triple J’s Smoke House off Homestead and play board games at home.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would like to thank Mrs. JoNel, Mr. Luis and Mrs. Mariela that are dear to us by keeping us in prayer and opening doors for us to meet with people like Joe Juarez. We are extremely thankful for Joe, our business advisor and his company Epicenter. Joe and his team have helped us get everything ready to promote our business and understand the process that comes with it.
