We had the good fortune of connecting with mackbo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi mackbo, what inspires you?
Life, from my day to day activities to my surroundings. Seeing my progress in only two years since I wrote my first song keeps me striving man, it’s been nothing but growth. Being from Savannah and starting my music in Texas just showed me how to really get it on my own. I want to be a star in this world and elevate my people. Always Strive And Prosper ya’ know!
How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way.
The biggest thing I can say is no matter what happens, KEEP THE BALL ROLLING! Over time I’ve learned to perfect my sound and not to rush any moves. Rely on myself and continue to expand my horizons. I’ve done everything with my engineer (Stallworth Jones) and my brother/management (King Mack) being states away back home, but the job must get done. COVID-19 gave me more time to really sit down and focus on my music approach.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a homebody to be honest, and I’m always out of town now you know with the music going on.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Huge shout out to my fans first and foremost. Shouts out to BLOOM$ET (creative group) out in Houston, and shout out to Expensive Habits & my management out in Atlanta.
