We had the good fortune of connecting with Matthew Shetz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Matthew, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Over the last 10 years, the most important factor behind my success has definitely been the relationships I’ve built.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In looking back over the last 10 years, I’ve found that the key is to NEVER stop learning. With photography, there’s no finish line, no end point to the skills you develop. I’m fortunate that I love to learn new things, and I love to keep pushing myself to be better at my craft.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in The Woodlands, I’d say visitors should experience the Waterway and Market Street. And maybe take in a concert at the Pavilion, following a great dinner at a local restaurant.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
While it may sound cliche’ but definitely my parents. My father was an amateur/semi professional photographer from the early days of my parents’ marriage and my mom was always one to encourage pursuing new endeavors.
