We had the good fortune of connecting with Michele Stamos and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michele, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I believe doing what makes you happy is key to living a balanced life. When you do what you love every day for your job, it’s much less stressful on yourself and your family. Plus you get the benefits is living a healthy lifestyle.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have been in business for 10 years now but in Fitness and health for over 25 years. Owning a business is not easy , yes, you get to do what you love, but you are the owner, executive, trainer, sales, HR, mentor , client advocate, payroll processor and biggest cheerleader all at the same time. The day doesn’t end at 5 pm when you leave the office… The lessons I have learned is to keep evolving, keep listening, support one another and never stop trying, oh! And have fun. That is key. My brand and story isn’t necessarily any more “unique” per say then many of the other just as talented professionals out there, but, what sets me apart is my depth of knowledge in the fitness and health business, my passion for making others feel the best possible in their bodies, and the ability to have a keen sense of how a person discovers their own anatomy and apply those principles to their own healing movement.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love being outdoors so the new hiking trails the city offers would be top of my list. We also have an amazing museum district with top notch programming. Our weather can’t be beat 10 months out of the year so sipping a cocktail on one do the fabulous outdoor patios would certainly be on the list as well as a world class sporting event supporting the Texans, rockets and the Astros, of course!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Emma Aguirre. Friend, mother, trainer and full on supporter
