We had the good fortune of connecting with Quenden James and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Quenden, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I am a firm believer that sometimes in life you’ll have to take a risk to get to where you want to be. You cannot be afraid to fail and play it safe that’s not how life should be lived. Taking risks has played a Big role in my life If I hadn’t I would still be places I didn’t want to be that I felt I had out grown.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve always been someone who loved to do many things. I’ve been streaming on twitch for little over a year now under the name se_quel it started as something to do when Covid hit to escape my reality and a coping mechanism for the depression I developed in that time. It became a community I felt at home with I’ve made so many friends and connections in such a short time, some even know my personal life.
I am also currently getting my certificate in Personal training it was a decision made after I started my own weight loss journey and had lost 42 pounds in 3 months I saw how it made me feel much more confident in myself and it inspired to be able too give that to someone else,To help them reach goals when it comes to their health. Getting to this point was far from easy a lot of sleepless nights wondering what I was here on earth to do what my purpose was. With that if I could share anything with the world it’s that the hardest part about the journey of life is starting, whatever you want you do what ever you feel will make you happy and the best version of yourself. Don’t be afraid because once you start the hardest part is out of the way.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First things first here In Tampa, Florida you have to stop at sushi house in Ybor in my opinion there’s not a better spot for sushi In the city. I’m not big on clubs but I’ll bar hop occasionally and SOHO is always my go to.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
When it comes to my success not only in my career but daily life I have plenty of people to thank. From my AAU coaches growing up to the family that came with it. My high school coach Cedric smith who still has a big hand in my life and continues to look out for me to this day. Also my family who supports me and the path I choose to walk upon without them I wouldn’t be the Man I am today. Can’t forget my friends I’ve made in the gaming community.
