Meet Raul Escobedo | Founder & Owner of Raul’s Web Studio

We had the good fortune of connecting with Raul Escobedo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Raul, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work-life balance is something I’ve continued to grow into over time. As a husband of 13 years and father of three, finding that balance between my career and my family life has always been something I’ve had to be intentional about.
For more than a decade, I worked as a band director—a career I truly loved. Teaching, rehearsing, performing, and mentoring young musicians was incredibly rewarding, and I’m proud of the impact I made on my students. But as my own children began to grow and get more involved in their own activities, my priorities started to shift. I realized I wanted to be more present for my family while also pursuing another passion of mine: technology, design, and marketing.
Now, as the owner of Raul’s Web Studio, I’ve found a new rhythm. Running my own business still comes with its share of challenges, but it also offers flexibility and fulfillment in new ways. I get to help small businesses tell their stories, grow their presence online, and reach more people—all while being home with my family.
Looking back, my balance hasn’t just changed—it’s evolved. I’ve learned that it’s not about doing less, but about doing what matters most. My family remains my top priority, and every project, every late night, and every goal I set for my business is ultimately for them.

What should our readers know about your business?
Raul’s Web Studio was born out of a desire to combine creativity, strategy, and service—to help small businesses grow through websites that don’t just look good, but work for them.
After spending over a decade as a band director, I found myself craving a new way to make an impact. Teaching taught me patience, communication, and how to bring out the best in others—skills that turned out to be invaluable when I transitioned into web development and digital strategy. I didn’t start with a business plan or investors; I started with a passion to create, to help, and to solve real problems for local businesses.
What sets Raul’s Web Studio apart is the personal approach. Every client I work with gets a customized experience—not just a template or cookie-cutter design. I take time to understand their business, their audience, and their goals. I’ve helped restaurants launch online ordering, contractors gain credibility through strong SEO, and local shops turn their websites into a true extension of their brand. My goal is always to make their business shine online in a way that feels authentic and effective.
Was it easy? Definitely not. Starting a business from scratch—while raising a family and shifting careers—came with its share of challenges. There were moments of doubt, plenty of trial and error, and countless late nights learning new tools, systems, and strategies. But I’ve learned that progress beats perfection. Each challenge became an opportunity to grow stronger, more adaptable, and more confident in what I bring to the table.
I’m most proud of how far it’s come in such a short time. From helping clients across Houston to being part of an incredible network like BNI, I’ve built not just a business, but a community around trust, creativity, and collaboration.
What I want the world to know about Raul’s Web Studio is that it’s not just about websites—it’s about people. I care deeply about helping small business owners succeed, tell their stories, and feel proud of their digital presence.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting for the weekend, I’d want to give them a real taste of Houston — starting right here in Kingwood, my home base. We’d start the morning with a walk or bike ride through the Greenbelt Trails. It’s peaceful and full of trees.
After that, we’d grab breakfast at Kingwood Taco Shop, one of my favorite local spots. Their tacos always hit the spot — it’s one of those places where everyone knows each other.
From there, we’d head into the city. Depending on the season, we’d catch an Astros game or a Houston Dynamo match — and if the timing worked out, maybe both! The stadiums are close to each other downtown, so it’s an easy way to make a whole day out of it — good food, great energy, and a lot of fun.
In the evening, we’d stop by one of Houston’s local breweries to unwind. Grab a drink, sit outside, and just enjoy the atmosphere. If the weather’s cool, that’s the perfect way to end the night.
That’s what I love about Houston — you can go from quiet trails in the morning to the excitement of downtown by afternoon. It’s such a good mix of community, culture, and energy, and there’s always something new to experience.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When I think about the people and organizations that have shaped my journey, it’s hard to narrow it down—because every stage of my life has been influenced by someone who believed in me or inspired me to keep going.
First and foremost, I have to give credit to my wife. She’s been my rock from day one. Every idea I have—no matter how big, small, or spontaneous—I run it by her first. She’s the one who helps me think things through, keeps me grounded, and encourages me when things get tough. Having her by my side through this entrepreneurial adventure has been an incredible blessing, and her support means more to me than she’ll ever know.
Right alongside her are my parents. They’ve been entrepreneurs for more than 30 years, and I grew up watching them pour their hearts into their business. Seeing their work ethic, resilience, and the way they treated people left a lasting impression on me. They taught me that success isn’t just about making money—it’s about building something meaningful, something that helps others. Their example gave me the courage to take the leap and start my own business.
My faith has also been a guiding force in my life and business. It reminds me daily to lead with gratitude, integrity, and compassion. Whenever I face uncertainty, it’s my faith that gives me peace and perspective, reminding me that everything has purpose and timing.
And finally, I have to give a huge shoutout to BNI Elite Networkers, my local BNI chapter here in the Houston area. Joining this group has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my business. It’s not just about referrals—it’s about relationships. The connections I’ve made through BNI Elite Networkers have turned into genuine friendships, collaborations, and opportunities to serve others. It’s a community of people who truly want to see each other succeed, and being part of that network has pushed me to grow not only as a business owner, but as a person.
At the end of the day, my journey is a reflection of all these influences—my wife, my family, my faith, and my community. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them, and their example continues to inspire how I serve and support small businesses through Raul’s Web Studio.
