We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca McCallum and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rebecca, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
Easily! moving me and my business across the country. Leaving toxic environments to finally work on myself and what i wanted from this thing we call life. It has been the best and hardest thing ive ever done.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Photography is my view of the world and a way that I can share how I feel and see things, especially love. The beautiful thing is not everyone gets to experience the same love in this life—be it family relationships, friendships, or romance. It’s incredibly special to see how people love each other and how happy and uninhibited they are in those moments. How you are loved in this life shapes you and I see that clearly through my lens.
Nothing in life is easy and that is especially true for owning a business. But pushing through and treating everyone with respect will always win in life.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly…… I would scope out all of the best restaurants! 😆 We would find an awesome hole in the wall restaurant with homemade noodles, or ramen. Always going to the best breweries or bars, from 11below, to saint Arnolds, thistle draft shop etc.
Museums galoreeeee and gardens to die for.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My second mom (my childhood best friends mom) She is the one who helped me start my business and pushed me to believe in myself and go for what i want.
