We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rebecca, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
This question speaks to me, the first year and a half of my business I had absolutely no balance. This made life crazy and exhausting, I had no time for things that I enjoyed or people I love! I knew that if I wanted to really make my business work I would have to find some kind of balance with my personal life. This past February I was finally ready to quit my full time job and dedicate my time to my business and ME! Now after a few months of having more time the balance is much better! I understood that balance would make my business better and me happier.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I believe what has set me apart from others is that I try to make the whole process of getting cookies as easy as possible. To me each and every order means the world and I want to make sure my customers know how special they are to me. I am most proud of how I’ve been able to grow and learn at the same time, to be honest when I started this I NEVER imagined it would be something I would actually turn into my full time job and give me the opportunity to work for myself. I am so exited for what’s to come, I have so many ideas of were I want to take my business and new things are always coming up! I got to where I am through hard work and consistency. I usually do some type of work every single day, not because I have to but because I’m excited for my business and willing to put in the hard work to make it all happen, It has never been easy but definitely worth it. With my previous job I had to make tough decisions that would better the business, that taught me that with my business I would have tough decisions to make and challenges to overcome. The only way to do this is to work through them and remind myself that it’s all worth it. What I would like people to know about my brand is that I take pride in making their events special and that everything I do is done with love. For my story I want people to know that my business came about from love and necessity to make more money to help my dad and now I am able to work for myself because of so many that have supported me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have been so busy the past 2 years that this answer is going to be so boring! (LOL) but I honestly have the best time and love spending quality time with friends in my home, I love to play a fun board game and order food in! Other than this I would take them to a small local winery that is very close to my home called DUO and during the week we would probably make the 30 minute drive to Galveston and spend some time by the beach!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I know very well that my business would not be as successful with out the support I’ve had through the past (almost) 2 years. I can’t give all the credit to one specific person because I am surrounded by many AMAZING people that have been more than willing to help me! The first two people are my parents, they have both been amazing support in all of this, I am truly lucky to have them! They want me to succeed as much as I do. Apart from them my whole family is extremely supportive, continuously asking how I’m doing and if I need any kind of help, and lastly my friends have been amazing willing to help in any way possible. Again, I am so thankful to be surrounded by such amazing people. All of them definitely deserve all the credit to my success.
