We had the good fortune of connecting with Rocio Guerrero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rocio, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artistic career because I see art as a way of expression. I try to do bracelets that will not only let kids and young women express themselves but also moms and women my age. I not only want my jewelry to make them feel beautiful but also make them feel like themselves. It also shows moms and women’s age that no matter how old you are, you can still find a way to convey how you feel. My jewelry varies from all colors and sizes in a way that will satisfy anyone who wants to wear them, supporting my idea of using these delicate but beautiful accessories as a way of expression.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am excited about what I can show young adult women and women my age, that it is never to let to start doing what you enjoy. I am where I am today because I have been working extremely hard. I did not only picked up bracelets out of the blue; I thought about this; and that if wanted to start a little business, I had to be good at it. I took a course on how to make a business from scratch and what where the steps needed to make it grow. I also had to learn how to use different ways of advertising to reach a higher audience. I overcame these challenges because I was eager to keep learning, taking advice from others; like my daughters and my husband. I have learned that even though some things might be hard, that you may want to quit, you should keep going and work hard. That your learning grows when you overcome the obstacles you are facing rather than having an easy rode. I want people to know that my brand is for everyone! No matter where you come from and what you do, my brand will represent you and what you believe.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my bestfriend came to visit we would go to some of my favorites restaurants. Some of them would be going to Bisou, Backstreet Café, Mastro’s Steakhouse, Brasserie 19, Tiny Boxwoods, and Toulouse (River Oaks). I would also take her to do some shopping at galleria and to the outlets. At night we could go to Waterway, that is close to my house. There are bars and sometimes live music. If it is summer, we would spend a lot of time by my pool catching up and just talking. If we are at the restaurants, we might go to some museums or parks by down town.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family. My family does not only work as inspiration, but they also motivated me started doing something I love. My husband did not let me quit on my dream. He told me that I should pursue the idea of doing something that would inspire me. My two yond adult daughters have helped me with a way to reach out to girls their age, helping me with what colors they like the most, and what designs are better for college students. My little girl, she is the model of all my pictures, to promote the bracelets for kids her age. They have all helped me improve and push myself on being the best in what I do.
