We had the good fortune of connecting with Rodrick Chambers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rodrick, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I knew at 30 years of age I would be starting my own business. I desired a model like Mindvalley, but that wasn’t the path that my life took. However, I knew I wanted to work within the body, mind, and spirit wellness industry. Because I am someone who believes in following your spirit, it was a matter of when and how this was going to take place, while working for other businesses. Long story short, I’ve been able to integrate my professional experiences working for others as well as working for myself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Please tell us more about your art. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. My Art:
1. I am a practitioner of healing using the modalities and or techniques of Massage Therapy, Nutritional Coaching, Spiritual Coaching, and music.
What Sets Me Apart:
1. The combination of each of these ‘arts’ creates a unique service and perspectives for clients. I have over 15 years as a licensed and ordained minister as well as working within education that provides me skills and competencies to deliver these skills to clients with a certain brand of compassion and knowledge.
How Did I Get To Where I Am Today:
1. My progression through university has created great levels of opportunities for me. I do possess a B.A. in Communication (Broadcast Journalism), a Minor in Music and MA in Mass Communication. I started a PhD, but 2020 decided to take a break. As I have mentioned, I’ve been working in education for over 15 years, so the culmination of these experiences brought me to where I am.
Was it easy?
Absolutely, NOT! There were several trials and errors along the way. Although my father had attained, at least two degrees, while I was in university, he was still so out of touch with the process of college. He was the youngest of 10 children and he was the first one to complete university. However, there was still an incredible learning curve for us about the college and professional environment. This still did not hinder our growth mind set that my parents were extremely instrumental in developing, but it did cause for so challenging experiences, such as developing huge amounts of student debt, selecting a profession, and a few other challenges we don’t have the time to get into.
Lessons along the way:
1. The greatest lesson along the way is develop a “growth mind-set” or leaning into the PTG (Post Traumatic Growth). This intention will situate the practitioner’s mind, body, and soul to take everything life throws at you and change it into gold.
What I want The World To Know About Me..:
1. I am here to serve. I am here to live a life of bold truth as I know, but be willing to tune into change as needed. My brand is about reducing SAD – Stress, Anxiety, and Depression, while increasing HAPPY – Health, Awareness, Positivity, and Potentially, Your best life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Friend’s itinerary: I would let my guess choose how they wanted to use the week. Honestly, when I travel I do not like a hard itinerary that adheres to being at certain places at certain times. But I do enjoy having choices of places to go throughout the day, so that is what I will develop for my friend.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to recognize my parents, firstly. My parents were teenage parents, starting at the age of 13 and 14 years old. I was the second child only nine months a part from my eldest sister. I will be 40 years old in a few weeks and I still get baffled at the miracle of raising children that young as well as being mentally fit; this is truly a miracle.. I have no excuse but to be great! My mother has been a business owner for over 30 years and my father a new business owner, an educator, teacher, and credentialed to be a principal with two Masters for over 20 years; the precedence and ‘cheat code’ for greatness has been established. Secondly, I want to celebrate my family and friends who have been the buffers on how to adjust to the world. In addition to my parents and siblings, my family has provided me the ‘classes of life’ in regards to work ethic, conflict resolution, communication, cultivation of intelligence at all levels, and so much more.
