Meet Rosemary Nwaosuagwu: Children’s Book Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosemary Nwaosuagwu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rosemary, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
In order to be successful, I must say that there have been certain habits that helped me succeed. One of those habits is having passion in what I do. I love to read and I love to write. I love creating and writing books that children not only have fun while reading, but are also learning as they read. I believe that one must have passion in their work and love what they do. Another habit is always having a positive attitude. In a business, there may be problems along the way, yet I believe that I can overcome anything as long as I try my best and believe in myself. In any thing that I do, I always hold my head high and know that each day I have the opportunities to grow myself and become better.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Books by Rossy is a business/platform that was created to showcase children’s books that I write. I am a child author/kid entrepreneur. I’ve always been interested in reading books and I love writing books. I am currently known for my Lily Book Series. I am most proud of the number of children I inspire through my stories. I like to use my imagination to create stories. I started writing stories at the age of six. My first book “Lily’s Favorite Color”, was written to help children learn and explore their basic colors.  At the age of 7 years old, I wrote and published my second book – “Come Along and Count with Lily”, which was written to introduce children to counting and helping them with early literacy skills. Now at the age of 8, I have my third published children’s book out now- “ABC Affirmations with Lily”, which was written to help children learn positive affirmations using each letter of the alphabet from A through Z that they can say each and every day. I love writing books to educate, inspire, and bring joy to children all over the world!

What sets me apart from others is my desire to go above and beyond to motivate and inspire children all over the world. Here at Books by Rossy, I believe that education is needed especially in our world today, where race becomes something that divides us as people. I want to be able to continue to showcase the books that are written where we are able to represent people especially those of color through the educational system.

 I am most proud of the community events I’ve been able to attend to interact with my supporters of all ages and showcase my published books and the many networks I have had the opportunity to come across! Being a published author of three children’s books, at such a young age, has been a huge accomplishment and a blessing. So far, the road has been smooth and exciting! Even with COVID-19 interrupting so many lives and businesses, I still kept a positive attitude and kept my head up high. In any business, I have learned that in order for any dream to become a reality, it does take a lot of effort, dedication and determination. Also, I have also learned that every accomplishment that I made really did start with my decision to try without giving up.  Now, I am an author of three published children’s books. I have so much fun creating stories from my imagination that help children learn in many ways. All of my books are currently available online at Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, Wal-Mart and on my website www.booksbyrossy.com! I love motivating other children and inspiring them! I know that if children all over the world set their minds to their dreams, I believe they can achieve anything!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite places to go here in Houston is the Downtown Aquarium. There are so many fun activities one can do from the fun games and amusement rides to the exciting Aquarium exhibits, to the fine dining areas they have. One of my favorite rides at the Downtown Aquarium is the Shark Voyage where one is able to ride on a train and get an up-close view of the different types of sharks the Aquarium has. Houston is also known for the Houston Space Center, so I would also go to the Houston Space Center to enjoy learning more about Space.

Another fun place to hang out and/or go visit is the Houston Zoo, to see the fascinating different types of animals they have. I would also visit the Galleria. At the Galleria, one can go to several small shopping outlets and shop, and or just enjoy the outside weather to relax.

As you can see, there are so many places one can go. These are just a few of my favorites. Houston is known for its diversity.

I would like to give a shoutout to my Mommy. My Mommy is one of my biggest supporters. She always motivates me to be the best that I can be each and every day.
