We had the good fortune of connecting with Saumil Manek and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Saumil, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was 22 when I opened up my jewelry and diamond business. I stayed in India for 2 years learning how to look at diamonds. Then I came back and opened up my own company. I’ve faced many challenges in the business and learning from my mistakes along the way. During my 15 years of business I was always trying to find ways to find another way to make money and leave the very toxic environment. At the age of 39 I started to shift my thoughts and focus on myself. I started practicing yoga and going on different retreats for guidance. Basically trying everything until I found what fits my personality. Then I started my own yoga studio with 3 other women. I never wanted to teach the movement aspect of the practice so I started playing the singing bowls. When I started playing 8 years ago no one was coming to my classes for 6 months. There wasn’t anyone playing or anyone aware of anyone playing the singing bowls. It was very challenging in the beginning. My style of playing is very unique. I am also self taught. Then my partner and me decided to name our business. She came up with the concept and name, creation. I unite the community

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
How I reached being successful professionally is being constant with my intentions. Also having help from discovery Green and buffalo Bayou Partnership, who helped me get in Corporate Wellness
I am very proud of myself on where I’ve taken the singing bowls. When I 1st started playing 8 years ago there was hardly anyone playing in Houston and it was very challenging. I remember the 1st 6 months I started playing no one would show up to my classes. I even had a veteran teacher tell me that they would never come to my classes. Now you can’t have a yoga class without Sound Healing. That makes me super happy. It also taught me how competitive I am and going deeper into my ego
My biggest lesson on the way is to lead with my heart and don’t allow others to dim your light. How I overcame those challenges was trusting the journey and understanding that if things don’t work out it’s for the best.
Like any story there is a beginning and my beginnings were dark and self destructive. I want the world to know there is hope and happiness and it all starts with loving yourself genuinely
The brand was created by my wife and I unite the world… we unite to create
