We had the good fortune of connecting with Shatora Everage and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shatora, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was the freedom to be able to do so. The freedom to be able to live your life on your own terms. It is also the passion for what I do and being able to be of service on a daily basis. Although, being an entrepreneur it requires much discipline, determination, and sacrifices to excel in your business and personal development growth. It’s the freedom for me!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Luxe Life Consulting mission is to help women in business, creative entrepreneurs and new business owners who wants to grow and scale their business portfolio implement wealth building strategies to create a path to financial freedom. I love helping others. It’s apart of me to serve others. I have a delight for being able to assist people rather it be in a big or small way. I remember when I first started Luxe Life Consulting, it was a business idea that I knew the world needed for such a time as this. I didn’t know much about financial literacy when I was coming up in school. It was not taught, so it was something I had to learn and pay for courses to obtain the knowledge and then apply it in my daily life. It’s so much information to always obtain, you just have to be willing to do your own research. I believe you can make money, but it’s all about building wealth! What makes our company differ is that it is not only centered around receiving and securing profits, it is the Godly wisdom used and applied to know and be able to keep those profits over a long period of time. Being able to invest back into your business that’s the key to having a successful business. We believe in the power of investments that will set yourself up for success. We believe in the power of long-term investments. Although society puts the pressure on to have it all now. I don’t think it is so. It’s all in legacy building, building something that will outlast you.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Go bestfriend! One of my favorite spots to visit in the city with my girls would be Bloom and Bee restuarant located in the The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown. It’s a brunch location where we like to meet up. A typical day in Houston, Texas with the girls would be first to grab tea or coffee from Bouchee Patissirie my favorite is the caramel mocha latte with whip cream on top. We love this spot because it has so many beautiful amenities you can bask in while you are there. Then we like to head over to Bloom and Bee where we hang out for lunch and drinks over some good girl talk discussing life and business. My favorite food on the menu is the bacon avocado and turkey burger with the sweet potatoe fries. So good!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I remember when I first started Luxe Life Consulting, I had no clue of how to get started. I also knew when I started I didn’t want to make the same mistakes others had made in their business when they were starting. I use to hear it so much that I said to myself, “I’m so glad I’m able to receive and apply the knowledge that was given to me in the beginning phase of starting my business”. So what I did, I surrounded myself with like minded women who were purpose driven and had somewhat of the same goals and mindset. I joined women empowerment groups and attended trainings to be able to network with others and become familiar with the business consulting industry. I would like to shoutout two women who truly helped me succeed, my business mentor Tiffany LaToi and financial coach Marcia Smith whether they know it or not they pushed me forward to help me accomplish my goals within business and personal development growth. It’s always a pleasure to work alongside women who inspires and motivates you on a daily. I’ll save the best for last my dear husband Chris, who is my biggest supporter and the best business partner. He always pushes me to follow my dreams keep going no matter what. He supports me and uplifts me, he’s also doesn’t mind being my personal photographer. I love to see it! Thank you for the love and support!
