We had the good fortune of connecting with Shenisha Armealine and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shenisha, how do you define success?
Success. I define such a term with the value that comes from trying! When we over prioritize the goal, we sometimes feel unsuccessful because we hadn’t made it to the finish line. There is a gift in patience, and a promise in waiting. As long as you keep going, I believe that success has already been given to you. You’ve won the challenge by being consistent, and now you reign successful!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe what truly sets me apart is the ability to let my guard down, and just be myself. I don’t hold hefty requirements against myself, and what I should or shouldn’t be doing. I am humble and thankful for every opportunity that God has allowed me to be apart of. My weight loss journey, becoming a mom, and sharing my life on social media has given me a way out of my own head. Nothing is ever easy especially when you’re working to change every area of your life. I come from a single parent household, and we didn’t always have what we needed. I learned how to make do with what I have, and enjoy life while doing it. There are a lot of stigmas around mental health illness/challenges, and I make it my duty to bring clarity to those who may not completely understand why some of us are different. I never got to take a traditional route in any area of my life, and for that I have been able to share my creativity in many ways. I often create a connection between us as people and also us as children of God! Anything we ask in his name, it shall be done for us! That is the name of Jesus, and the best part is that he’s never impartial. I’ve been wanting to learn how to coupon for years, and after I had my daughter it clicked. Like instantly! My goal in life is to share what I go through everyday while making the best of my time here on earth. I’ve learned to use discretion on my endeavors leading to a big break! When I would speak to quickly, the opportunity sometimes would dwindle away! Faith is the greatest foundation in anything that we want to obtain in life. As long as you believe that it can happen, it will.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love nature, so the first place I would want to visit is Discovery green park or Hermann Park. You can bring your kiddos, and go get some fresh air while they play! There are also some pretty cool museums full of great artifacts, and sometimes shows that dig deeper into history. Food wise, I love baked potatoes so the Baked Potato Factory is worth stopping by as well! We can’t forget to stop by a Walgreens or CVS either, so I can give a nice thorough trip to utilize some coupons. That way when heading back home, we can have a full car of household supplies. Now that’s adulting!!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The greatest scheme of my story is turning my life around for the better. Without my immediate family, I wouldn’t have been able to actively sustain change within my mental health or physical health. One main person I have always leaned into is my grandmother. The wisdom, patience, and knowledge she has given me has inspired so many parts of my life to grow. I speak alot about consistency, because there was a time where I only wanted to give up. The blessing of it all is that at the right time, God will allow things to happen his way. I found myself being mentored by church members, counselors, and even a few producers on Good Morning America. I know that without the insight and encouragement from so many great minds around me, I would not have been able to make it to where I am today.
