We had the good fortune of connecting with SHIRLEY GARCIA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi SHIRLEY, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My decision to start my own business came from a mix of necessity, vision, and purpose. I realized early on that I had the skills to help businesses grow, but more importantly, I wanted control over my time, my values, and the impact of my work. I saw many small and minority-owned businesses struggling to navigate marketing and technology, and I knew I could bridge that gap in a more honest and human way.

Starting my business wasn’t about taking the easy route—it was about taking responsibility for my future. I understood the risks, but I also trusted my ability to adapt, learn, and keep going even when things were uncertain. Over time, my thought process evolved from “Can I do this?” to “How many people can I help through this?” That mindset shift is what truly turned my business into something sustainable and meaningful.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business, Infinity Enterprises & Media LLC, was built with one clear mission: to help businesses grow in a way that is both strategic and human. What sets us apart is that we don’t just run ads or create content—we focus on understanding the people behind the business, their goals, and the communities they serve. That approach allows us to build marketing strategies that are sustainable, ethical, and results-driven.

Getting to where I am today was not easy. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced financial pressure, uncertainty, and moments where growth felt slower than expected. I learned to overcome those challenges by staying adaptable, being honest about what wasn’t working, and continuously investing in learning. Every obstacle became a lesson in resilience, discipline, and leadership.

What I am most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. Many of them are small or minority-owned businesses, and being able to help them grow, create jobs, and strengthen their presence in their communities is deeply meaningful to me. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success isn’t about perfection—it’s about consistency, integrity, and showing up even when the path feels unclear.

What I want the world to know about my brand and my story is that growth is possible without losing your values. You can build something impactful while staying honest, compassionate, and committed to the people you serve.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My Favorite Places in Houston

Some of my favorite moments in Houston revolve around food and experiences. I truly enjoy exploring different cuisines—Mexican food is always a favorite, along with Thai and French food. During crawfish season, it’s something my husband and I really enjoy together. Houston’s food scene is one of the things I love most about this city.

I also love spending time outdoors at Memorial Park and Hermann Park, whether it’s for a walk, fresh air, or simply disconnecting from a busy schedule. For shopping or casual outings, Memorial City Mall is one of my go-to places.

I enjoy live rock music, discovering local venues, and sometimes—why not—enjoying an apple martini. I also love visiting The Woodlands Waterway, especially Main Street, for its restaurants, atmosphere, and vibrant social scene. Beyond that, I value attending networking and social events I’m invited to. Houston offers so many opportunities to connect with inspiring people, and I love being part of a city that is always growing, creating, and welcoming new ideas.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This shoutout goes to the mentors, clients, and fellow entrepreneurs who trusted me before my work was fully visible. Their encouragement, honest feedback, and support helped shape not only my business, but my confidence as a founder. Success grows faster when it’s supported by community.
