We had the good fortune of connecting with Glen Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Glen, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After nearly 20 years in property management, my decision to start my own company felt like a natural evolution rather than a sudden leap. I’d worked my way through nearly every level of the business—from leasing manager to Vice President of Operations—and that hands-on experience gave me a deep understanding of what works, what doesn’t, and where the industry could do better. Over time, my experience turned into a real passion for the business, and I realized I wanted to build a company that reflected the standards, culture, and level of service I believe in. Starting my own firm allowed me to bring that full perspective together and lead with intention.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Camlen Realty was built with one clear goal in mind: creating strong, lasting partnerships in property management. After nearly 20 years in the industry, I truly understand the impact a good property manager can have on an investor’s peace of mind—not just financially, but emotionally as well. Property ownership should feel like a partnership, not a source of stress.

My journey to starting Camlen Realty was not an easy one. Over the years, I’ve seen both the best and the worst of property management. That firsthand experience is exactly what led me here. I knew what worked, what didn’t, and where owners and residents were often left feeling unheard. Camlen Realty was founded as a response to that—to take everything I’ve learned over two decades and intentionally build a company rooted in accountability, communication, and trust.

What sets us apart is our approach. We don’t see properties as numbers; we see them as long-term investments and homes that deserve thoughtful, hands-on management. I’m most proud of the culture we’re building—one that values relationships, transparency, and doing things the right way, even when it’s not the easiest way.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is that success doesn’t come from shortcuts. It comes from consistency, integrity, and surrounding yourself with people who believe in the vision. I want the world to know that Camlen Realty is more than a property management company—it’s the culmination of experience, passion, and a commitment to raising the standard of property management here in Houston

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d make sure they experienced Houston the way locals really do. We’d definitely spend time downtown—catching a Rockets game is a must. The energy in the city on game night is hard to beat, and it’s one of my favorite ways to show off Houston’s vibe.

Food would be a big part of the trip, and POST Houston would be at the top of the list. It’s a great place to eat, hang out, and take in the city views, and it really captures Houston’s diverse food scene in one spot.

We’d also carve out time for shopping at The Galleria, which is a Houston staple, and then head out to the outlet malls in Cypress for a more laid-back day of browsing and finding good deals. It’s a great mix of city energy and suburban comfort.

Throughout the week, I’d want them to experience the people as much as the places—Houston is full of driven, welcoming, and creative individuals, and that’s what really makes the city special. Whether it’s downtown, grabbing a great meal, or just exploring different neighborhoods, Houston has something for everyone, and it always feels like home

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give a huge shout-out to my family. My wife, Camille, and my kids—Mia, Bella, and Ari—along with my immediate family, have been my constant source of support and encouragement. I’ve spent a lot of time at work over the years, and without their belief in me, their patience, and their unwavering support, none of this would have been possible.
